WeCare Foundation

The Wescom Credit Union WeCare Foundation was founded in 1999 as a charitable, not-for-profit organization formed by employees of Wescom Credit Union to help people in need through charitable giving and volunteerism.

WeCare focuses on identifying and sponsoring volunteer opportunities for employees, as well as providing a vehicle for tax-deductible charitable contributions through payroll deductions, which are, in turn, matched dollar for dollar by Wescom Credit Union.

Every year since its founding, WeCare selects a number of charities to sponsor throughout the year.

For 2008, WeCare is supporting these organizations:

  • The Unforgettables Foundation: – Is an Inland Empire based organization that provides financial support to families the have experienced the tragic death of a child. They enable low-income families to give their children a dignified burial.
  • Canine Companions: – A charitable organization based in Carlsbad and serving Southern California enhances the lives of people living with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnership.
  • Hillview Children’s Home: – Is based in Chino and is a 24 hour residential treatment center for some of the most abused children in So Cal. Children, as well as teen mothers and their young children find refuge at Hillview.
  • Soldiers Angels: – Soldiers' Angels mission is to provide aide and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and the Coast Guard and their amazing families.
  • Monarch School: – Provides an environment in which homeless or at-risk youth in the San Diego area can achieve their dreams of normal productive lives through education.
  • Free Arts for Abused Children: – Free Arts sparks the creative spirit of abused, homeless and at-risk children and their families to inspire and transform their lives through the power of artistic expression.
